NCAA Tournament Second Round Coverage: Arizona State vs Syracuse
No. 3 Syracuse (28-9) 78, No. 6 Arizona State (25-10) 67 Key Moment: Syracuse jumped to an early lead and never relinquished it. Andy Rautins, who was scoreless in the first round, scored 17 points.
High Point Scorers: Syracuse -- Eric Devendorf 21 Arizona State -- Ty Abbott, Rihards Kuksiks 20
Analysis: The Orangemen were very efficient spreading the floor and running their offense. They also frustrated the Sun Devils two most dynamic players in James Harden and Jeff Pendergraph. The two were held to a combined 19 points. And if that is happening, then that's not good news for ASU. In fact, of Arizona State's 49 attempts, 35 were 3-pointers. The Orangemen shot 55 percent and got great balance by putting five players in double figures.
What's Next: The Orangemen advance to the Sweet 16 in Memphis and meet No. 2 Oklahoma, which handled No. 10 Michigan 73-63. The most interesting part of this matchup will be how the Syracuse zone defense will affect Oklahoma's Blake Griffin.
