NCAA Tournament preview: #7 Boston College vs #10 USC
Midwest Regional Matchup
No. 10 USC (22-12) 72, No. 7 Boston College (22-12) 55 Key Moment: The Eagles went cold in the second half shooting about 22 percent. That took them out of it.
High Point Scorers: USC -- Taj Gibson 24 Boston College -- Corey Raji 15
Analysis: In the preview, we mentioned that one of the keys for the Eagles was to draw USC's Taj Gibson away from the basket. Well, that didn't happen. Gibson scored 24 points and was 10-10 from the field. Plus, they need a great game from Tyrese Rice. He scored only nine points. The Trojans have gotten hot a the right time. Freshman DeMar DeRozan was special with 18 points.
What's Next: USC advances to Sunday's second round and will meet No. 2 Michigan State. The Spartans handled Robert Morris 77-62. This should be a great game in the paint between Gibson and DeRozan and the Spartans' Raymar Morgan and Goran Suton. But it will come down to which point guard plays better, USC junior Daniel Hackett and Michigan State sophomore Kalin Lucas.
