Oregon snaps Stanford streak with 67-59 road win

Ducks get to .500 overall with victory over Cardinal

Ronald Reagan was only a year into his second term in the White House the last time Oregon won at Stanford.

However, that long drought has finally ended, as the Ducks used 15 points from Joevan Catron to capture a 67-59 win at Maples Pavilion on Thursday night.

Oregon (10-10, 3-5) led by seven on multiple occasions in the first half and was up 29-22 with 4:59 to play after a Garrett Sim three-pointer.

However, the Cardinal (10-9, 3-5) closed the half with a 7-0 run to knot things at 29 as the teams headed to the locker room.

Stanford built on that momentum after the break as they outscored Oregon, 9-3, over the first four minutes.

The Ducks responded with a 12-0 spurt and led 44-38 following a pair of free throws by Catron with 11:58 remaining.

Oregon increased its advantage to ten with over seven minutes to play, but the Cardinal cut it to three with just over a minute to play when Anthony Brown converted the second of two free throws.
